The audience enters Porky's movie theater, with a collection of quick gags: A firefly acting as usher, a kangaroo taking tickets and putting the stubs in her pouch, a chicken buying child tickets for her eggs. A skunk tries to buy a ticket, costing a nickel, but he only has one scent. He looks for a way to sneak in. Meanwhile, Porky introduces the show: a collection of cartoons, drawn as stick figures. At the end, the audience is all gone because the skunk managed to sneak in. Porky's cartoons include: Circus Parade, Choo-Choo Train, Soldiers (Marchin), Horse Race, and Dances (hula, Mexican hat, and ballet). All accompanied by a self-parody musical score.

In the tradition of Roald Dahl or O. Henry, this strange little psychological thriller begins when a New Yorker stops in a small Pennsylvania town with a flat tire only trapped in the local bar where he is accused of being a hit and run driver who killed one of their patrons. As the locals interrogate and threaten our protagonist we are lead through a series of psychological twists and turns, leading to a very surprise ending.

Included follows middle-aged divorcee Bill Beam, who staves off financial ruin by renting his spare rooms to students. Warm-hearted and eager but neurotic and slightly overbearing, Bill is thrilled by the youthful energy his lodgers bring – but baffled by their indifference to his laminated house rules and colour-coded cutlery. He’s torn between wanting to be part of the gang - sharing banter, keeping up with trends - and clinging to his role as responsible adult. The students, meanwhile, aren’t exactly living the dream: a 90-minute commute to campus, a strict bin rota, and a man in his 50s who insists on a group vote before ordering a takeaway. Still, the rent’s insanely cheap (please don’t tell Bill), and somehow, through all the awkwardness, this chaotic household starts to gel. As Bill and his mismatched lodgers navigate heartbreak, reinvention, and emotional upheaval, surprising parallels emerge between university life and midlife crisis. Can they overcome their differences, embrace their found family, and help each other muddle along? Can Bill learn to be both landlord and land…friend? Probably not, because he’ll get too excited and screw everything up, but let’s see.

William Burroughs and Antony Balch are seated next to each other, looking directly at the camera. Their dialogue goes something like, "I'm Tony, who are you? I'm Bill. Where are you Tony? I'm in London, where are you? I'm in a 1920s movie, Tony." First Bill speaks Tony's lines, then later the entire dialogue is repeated with the correct people speaking the lines. It is repeated again later with Bill's dialogue playing while Tony's lips move and vice versa. There are other permutations as well. In between these scenes are shots of Burroughs and Balch sitting alone staring at the camera. They are dressed so that their heads seem to be floating in black space. Burroughs recites what might be some sort of Scientology ritual (he flirted with it for a time) about getting a "pre-clear" to imagine himself out of his head using pushing and pulling bars (?). Balch quotes some dialogue from the movie Freaks (a film which he was successful in finally getting past the British censors for distribution in the UK). Later, Burroughs appears again, but Balch speaks his lines about preclears. Likewise, when Balch reappears alone, Burroughs quotes from Freaks.

Actions speak louder than words in the entirely non-verbal comedy adventure series “Bill and Tony“. They are brothers from another mother with hearts of gold, but are dumber than a bag of hammers. From exploring alternate universe to wreaking havoc in minimum wage jobs, see Bill and Tony celebrate friendship and absurdity in grand slapstick style.
